Around 19 June 2025, institutions, student unions and organisations around the world marked the day on campus, online or in a hybrid form. Events held for the “Research for Impact” theme included:
- A public science day with short talks, posters and laboratory visits
- A "meet the researcher" session for secondary school students
- A workshop on open access, open data and reproducible research
- A panel on research integrity, peer review and the responsible use of data
- A policy dialogue where researchers meet local decision makers
