Celebrate

How to celebrate

Any institution, student group or community can mark the day. Pick an idea, make it your own and tell the world.

Nine ideas to get started

Host a public lecture or panel

Invite scholars, students and the public to discuss the theme of the year.

Open your doors

Organise an open day, campus tour or virtual visit for future students and your community.

Give students the stage

Support student-led debates, showcases, exhibitions and creative projects.

Showcase your research

Present projects and discoveries in clear language that everyone can follow.

Highlight access and equity

Share scholarships, support services and stories of inclusion at your institution.

Thank educators

Recognise the teachers, mentors and staff who make learning possible.

Share alumni stories

Show how higher education changed lives and communities.

Go social

Post with the hashtag of the year and tag your celebration so others can find it.

Start a policy dialogue

Bring leaders, students and employers together around the theme.

Three simple steps

  1. Plan

Choose a format and a date on 19 June or on any day of the Monday-to-Sunday week that contains it. Online, on site and hybrid events are all welcome.

  2. Register

Submit your institution and event so that your celebration appears on this website after a short review.

  3. Share

Use the toolkit and the hashtag of the year to spread the word before, during and after the day.
